Ted Dewan has been drawing since age two (on the wallpaper because it felt great under the ball-point pen) but been professional since age 16 when he illustrated his first published book. Since moving to London from Boston USA in 1988, he has created over 20 award-winning books and illustrated still more for other writers, both for children and adults. He holds a degree in Engineering from Brown University where he was also an organ scholar and student of electronic music, followed by five years teaching physics and musical direction at Milton Academy in Boston, USA.

Ted is perhaps best known as creator of the
Bing Bunnyseries of pre-school books, first published by David Fickling Books, now reissued by HarperCollins. He is a scriptwriter, developer, and designer for the BBC Bing Bunny animated series as well. He gives presentations schools at universities, and for road safety campaign groups in Europe and America, focusing on the theme of imagination.
He also designs and builds large-scale exhibition pieces for museums and public spaces, and served as Oxford's Story Museum's first Artist-in-Residence from 2009-2013.

Now a dual US/UK citizen, he lives in Oxford with author/ illustrator Helen Cooper, their daughter, Pandora, and works most of the time in the writer's shed formerly owned by Philip Pullman, although it has been 'exorcised' of its mighty daemons.
